At the time of his imprisonment on 23 May 2004, Reverend Haile Nayzgi was serving God as the chairman of the board of the Full-Gospel Church of Eritrea, the largest Pentecostal church denomination in the nation. Previously, he was a senior accountant with World Vision in Eritrea. Reverend Haile Nayzgi, who is married with two children, was one of the key organizers of the church’s activities in Eritrea. He has been moved to various locations since his arrest, but the actual charges against him have not been released.
