Authorities have placed Jiang Rong, the wife of Pastor Wang Yi, under house arrest. Jiang had previously been freed on bail. Although Jiang was released on bail, she has now been barred from interacting with family, friends and church members.
When officials arrested Jiang and Wang Li along with other members of the Early Rain Church, in December 2018, their underage son Wang Shuya went to live with his grandparents. Wang Shuya has since been reunited with his mother. However, authorities are closely monitoring them and prohibiting them from interacting with others.
